Viliemov is the only transit point between Omanga and the Bayaria Gray Zone, which are separated by vast mountains. Draconian border controls prevent refugees from pouring into Omanga, and all travelers must hold permits and pass lengthy tests in the quarantine zone. Anyone diagnosed as “undesirable” will be blacklisted and expelled, while illegal border crossers are shot on sight. Shantytowns have sprung up on the outskirts of Viliemov, sheltering those barred from entering the Empire.
